Unlawful Possession of Pistol lands Man in Court.

A 29 years old male, M. Seun Jolaosho has been charged at an Ibadan chief Magistrate’s court, Oyo State of Nigeria over his act of going-about in the public with locally made pistol and three live cartridges without lawful authority and with intent to cause fear and terror to members of the public on 24th of February, 2018 at about 12:45am along Awotan/ Apete road Ibadan. He thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 80 of the criminal code Cap 38 Vol. 2 laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.

The accused person pleaded not guilty and his counsel Barrister Ayodeji Rahmon applied for bail because the case is a bail-able offence. Because the IPO was away with original case file without booking, the Prosecutor Sergeant Daudu Temitope had no objection to the accused person’s application.

Magistrate A.A. Adebisi granted the accused person bail with N100,000 (about US$276) with 2 sureties and the case was adjourned to the 19th of April, 2018 for further hearing.
